Membership registration and CbSubs ?

Membership registration and CbSubs ? was created by RobertvanderHulst
We have paid members on our website. Members subscribe for one year at a time (no automatic renewals).
We use an offline payment system (some customers get an invoice and pay by bank wire, others pay through ShareIt / Digitial River).

We would like to keep track of the memberships and payments, so the payments will not be handled on the website.
We would also like to automatically send out emails to members when their subscription needs to be renewed.

Maybe in the future we will also allow payment for the memberships through other payment providers, but not at this moment.
Would CbSubs work for this, especially the part of the offline payments and emails ?

CBSubs provides and Offline payment gateway, which should work fine for your needs. Either you as an admin or the user goes through the frontend process of selecting a plan then clicking the offline payment button. You then as an admin can pay their basket from backend once payment is received.

Kyle,

I have bought CbSubs. I am setting up the subscriptions now. I see that I can import the subscriptions from a CSV file. That is great.

I would also like to import the historical data (people may have been subscribers for a few years now).
What would be the easiest way to do this. ?
If there is no built in way, should I simply import them on the MySql Server in the #_cbsubs_payment_baskets, #_cbsubs_payments_items, #_cbsubs_payment_totalizers and #_cbsubs_payments tables or is that not ok.

Do you have a data model somewhere for reference ?

There is no means of importing external history like that. I do not recommend tampering with internal tables. If you insist on doing this then go through frontend with a plan you've created using the Offline gateway and pay it from CBSubs > Baksets, which will give you reference data structure for your import.

Kyle,

Ok clear. We will have to live without the history then. One more question:

I had added a custom field in CB to register the 'end of subscription'. I had added that field to a CB list as well.
Can I
- either automatically update that field with the date from CbSubs
- or include a CbSubs field in a list

Forget the question. I found how to do it. Is this the right way:
- create field and on the CbSubs Field tab assign it to the plan
- on the plan CbField integration choose 'Field = Value' and choose the value [SUBSCRIPTION_EXPIRY_DATE]
Is this correct ?
