hi,

after update to groupjive 3.x on my joomla-installation I can't open a group. I can see the List of groups in front-end, when I click on a group nothing happens. The same by using the button "new group", nothing happens.

Using a fresh installation of joomla on the same Webserver, everything works correct.

Any idea to make groupjive work in my existing joomla?

I'm seeing the same issue - fortunately, I did this on a Test Site before my live one.

Sample here:

It seems related to URL rewriting - turning this function off lets everything work properly. Turning it back on reintroduces the issue. None of the sub-items (suffix, etc.) change the behavior.

Looks like the SEF isn't reversing. Ensure your Joomla menu item to GJ is an internal menu item and not external. It should be a Community Builder > Plugin menu with Plugin set to CB GroupJive. If you are using an external Joomla menu please change it to an internal menu and see if issue persists. GJ with SEF works fine in my tests as well as the demo site, but it's strictly using internal menu items. CB currently does not ignore external menu items when parsing for Itemid, but looks like we may need to when SEF is enabled.

Also are you both using Joomla SEF or a 3rd party SEF extension?

Edit: Tested external menu items and isn't causing any issues here. They're ignored by Joomla entirely for SEF parsing.

I'm using Joomla's base SEF.

I re-worked the Menu items, which had been aliases before - now they are CB => Plugin => GroupJive. I have access to my Groups again, but I am seeing two other issues now:

1) The URLs appear to be dates, now?
template.knightrealms.com/community/2014-04-25-17-01-40/1-in-game-groups.html

2) Even when I try to set the menu to go to a specific Category (I only have one, with an ID of 1), it takes me to a listing of categories with that one Category. I can't get it to go just to the Groups listing for that Category.

Never mind - looks like I set up the menu item wrong. It's working now, with the proper URLs, to the proper Category / Groups.
