Can groups be location based with coordinates?

We need to set up groups that are based on particular locations. Is this built in to CB?

Not sure what you mean by them being location based. As in people can only see a group if they're in the same location as it? Can you be more specific about your requirements?

The website is for a guitar instructor, and he wants his students to be able to form groups on his site so that they can get together and jam in person. Therefor each user and each group should have coordinates that can be shown on a map. The site is quinnguitar dot com by the way.

Ah, then yes that's doable with the GJ Events integration. They'd just schedule an event within their group. Alternatively they can just post on the activity stream (note this also requires CB Activity), which supports location functionality as well.

OK, so GJ=GroupJive, got it. I was about to ask if it is included with a Pro subscription to CB until I found your membership page. You really could do a better job of letting people know which "Add-Ons" are included with your subscriptions. I was about to say no to CB and go back to Jomsocial because I thought each Add-On had to be paid for separately. You might rename them "Pro Features" or something. You could be losing sales over that.

In any case it looks like it will work great for us and we will likely be subscribing. I've been doing Joomla since 2010 and I have several other sites that might be getting CB added to them.

You really could do a better job of letting people know which "Add-Ons" are included with your subscriptions.

We're certainly open to suggestions. The Add-ons page is split into the respective subscriptions so the "Professional Add-ons" section of course includes all of those add-ons in the professional subscription. We then also have our memberships table.

We also put emphasis on the Subscribe button on the add-ons page which points to the professional subscription. If you've any suggestions on where this might have become confusing please don't hesitate to let us know as we're always looking to improve.

I've been doing Joomla since 2010 and I have several other sites that might be getting CB added to them.
