When I click a username in Admin section to view/edit the users data I get the following error:

An error has occurred.

1054 Unknown column 't.ordering_edit' in 'order clause'

I've had no success finding a solution or cause, please help!

Thanks

Gordon

You'd need to provide a full callstack for the error from your server error log as I've no idea where that's coming from specifically. That sounds like the order by clause in the tabs query. Try installing latest CB 2.x over it self then running the database tools in CB > Tools to see if there could be any database issues.

When I try to install CB, I get this error:

0 Database error - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3

Where would I find the error log as the only one I can find has nothing recent in it?

Disable non-core CB plugins 1 by 1 within CB > Plugin Management then retry. Something is causing the database query to fail. Beyond that I have no idea what as your errors are not detailed enough to even give a hint as to what query is failing. Review your server error log for any PHP errors that could be causing this and be sure debug mode and maximum error reporting are both on during tests so you can see full error output.

I managed to find time to get back to dealing with this, I noticed that when I go to manage extensions that the CB Library say 2.1.3 but all the others say 2.0.7 which seems strange, is that normal?

Would it cause any issues if I extracted the files on my PC and just uploaded them over the CB files on the server?

Thanks

Gordon

No, that's not normal. They should all say 2.1.3. Try reinstalling latest CB build.
