ysva's CB TabPages

I'm trying to display certain tabs on new pages.

This means that instead of viewing the tab on a profile, you can click a link and go to a NEW page that (in the component area) ONLY displays the one tab as if it's a page on its own.

It involves

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&user=76&tab=getprofilebooktab

New task created:

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=displaytabpage&user=76&getdisplaytab=profilebooktab

And that needs to display only the one tab, so it requires a new page of the template being created that only shows that one tab (in which a new tab position to avoid conflicts with the original profile and double tabs).

Some problems I'm facing are that the profile title, menu and moderator options need to be displayed too without breaking the template. But for the rest this is relatively easily done because it's already the same way with the editing of the profile (you also get a whole new page there!).

This feature creates endless posibilities for plugin creators because it extends the cb core.

I'm wondering wether this is the best way to do it.

I believe they show enough interrest in CB to correctly judge this and wether it's possible. If they do not respond in this thread, then please understand that they are very busy people and don't always have the time to look at every single *wonderful and increbly awesome o my gawd you need to see this* idea.

Probably someone has already created something like this because I forgot to use search.. sorry mates.

It is already possible to draw tabs like this.

Just call the getDisplayTab method. You can take a look at the code of CB Tab Wrapper module. (The code will be available some time soon at joomlacode. Meanwhile, you can find it here at the forum)

It would be pretty easy to write a similar component which displays a tab.

That being said, I think that the feature you propose would be cool.

Most of the times my ideas are so simple and effective that most people ignore them because they're too simple.

The CB tab wrapper module is external to CB, and has some display problems (example: try using the cb menu in a module). But if integrated into CB the way I propose it should work perfectly I think. Thanx

EDIT: Display problems also occur when in a seperate component, it has to be in cb.

If this works I suggest implementing it in the next CB release, because it offers great development oppertunities for plugins.
