mod_cb_conditional was created by ben_emo
Hi all,

I want to see if anyone is interested in this module: if they are I'll tidy it up and post it here or release it somewhere.

I've created a module that I've found quite useful on some of our sites. I call it mod_cb_conditional; basically it allows you to conditionally load a module position based on the value of a user's field in the CB registration data, or to show a module position for non-logged-in users.
I guess it's a simple way to approach ACL type stuff in a way - we've used it to allow the site admins to define groups of users who'd see different content, or different menus, that sort of thing.

If anyone is interested please let me know!

Cheers,
Ben.

im interested. That woudl be incredibly useful. Will there be some sort of instructions, and if not would you be willing to give me a walk through so i can get it to work? If you can get me to get it to work on my site, i can write a "how to" for ya. maybe save you some time.

Just a thought, but im definately interested in it.

Great idea!

Can you also make this work in the userlist view?
That would really save my day!!

Until now it's impossible to show a specific module only in the userlist view...You think this is possible?

Carry on!

Hey, great effort to do the plugin, i've been waiting for it for ages :)
Just one practical question: from where can we get the plugin?

I've been creating a site, in which it'd be highly welcome.

Thank is advance!

Cheers:

Muzzy

[EDITED]

Oh, am i such blind?! I've found it in the downloads section.
Sorry for being dummy ;)

Hey all,

That's great that so many are interested!

That plugin in the downloads section - that's not mine I'm not sure quite what it does. Let me know if it does the same thing as mod_cb_conditional!

I've attached this module to this post for now, but as soon as I get organised I'll host this on Joomlaforge or our company server.

Cheers,
Ben.

PS: Any problems, post here and I'll try to help. Basically uou setup the module, give it a CB Field name and a possible value; then if these conditions are met you can give it a module position to load (as for mosloadposition mambot).
