How I got Gallery2 working in Joom and CB

I've received several PMs from people who have checked out my gallery implementaion and are asking me to help them get their G2 working. Rather than answer each one individually I'll post here.

My Joom version is 1.0.8 (not fond of 1.0.8 due to login problems but I'm not going backwards).
Once joom is installed and running I install G2 in stand alone mode.
Once G2 is working stand alone, I install the com and mods into joomla. Once those were running i installed the G2 plug for CB.

Here are the versions I'm using. I've found that certain versions of G2 don't work well for me with certain versions of all the coms, bots and plugs. It took me quite a while to find the right combination. I hope they fix that issue soon.

Maybe a stupid question but does it also work with the newest gallery 2.1.1 or only with 2.0.3

I started to try to get 2.1.1 working but had troubles so I went with what I listed.

Strangely enough my gallery on one of my other sites is spitting out exif errors by the dozen now... WTF?

Just found out the current build of php on my server didn't have exif. Now it's been built back in and all is ok.
