quote - purchase services was created by Dismas
Question:

I need to be able to quote services to a specific member, they should be able to receive the quote and purchase it. The actual process would be: Member request quote - Admin sends quote - Member purchase quoted service

I have virtuemart installed but have not seen a quote system extension.

Is anyone using CBsubs in this way?
Do you have an guidance for me?

Nothing built-in that supports this out of the box.

I guess you can do the following and see if it works for you:

1. Create a new merchandise plan for quote. You can put the quote description as the plan description and quote price as plan price. You can also configure it to not appear unless user has exact URL (each CBSubs plan has its own URL).
2. Send user the URL via email and let user purchase.

Would something like this work?

You all are great.

I was able to create a quote as a subscription.

My problem is that even tho it shows up as a tab in the back end...I havent been able to get it to show up on a subscribed members profile.

Must be a permissions mapping problem...I know about the CBsubs profile tabs protect feature...and think i have it set up correctly...but struggling. I have attached a pix of the settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Things will always show up in backend - this way you as an administrator can give users a subscription from backend bypassing purchase process if needed (e.g., if something when wrong or if someone paid you offline and you want to provide the service).

I would also think that the plan should not be viewable in frontend for everyone.

The idea I had in mind (based on my understanding of your use case) is that:

1. A potential customer contacts you offline (sends you an email of calls you up) and describes his needs and asks for a quote for a specific service
2. You analyze the project and budget it.
3. You create a CBSubs merchandise plan and give it a price and a description. The plan is configured to not show up and not be proposed unless user has URL.
4. You send user via email the plan URL - this way user (now knowing the URL) has access to your quote that was made just for him/her and can purchase it online.
