after further research & 2 hrs on the phone with paypal, i determined that the autorecurring feature is done on the paypal side after the account is created. so please disregard the previous unless i am incorrect. in the event that i am incorrect please correct me. otherwise sorry for a wasted thread!
God Bless

Our PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro gateways both support Single and Recurring payments. PayPal Advanced also has API for recurring profiles.

Please understand I am reviewing implementation. This does not guarantee we will have and release a PayPal Advanced gateway. As it stands the PayPal Advanced documentation is beyond horrible and working out test credentials is near impossible. Please do not rely on having such a gateway to move forward, I suggest using one of the currently available gateways for the time being. From the most part there is barely any different between PayPal Standard and PayPal Advanced. The onsite implementation of PayPal Advanced is through an iframe, which isn't reliable and barely functions; the best approach is a pop-up window or redirect. So for the end user the experience isn't much different.

There is a huge difference in cost between advanced & pro for the account holder because the pro in itself is $30/month & that doesn't even include auto recurring payments which is also $30 totaling $60 just for accepting payments which is rather rediculous. Using PayPal advanced it is $5 plus $10 for recurring payments. A $45 difference per month.
I am hopeful that you will be able to get the advanced gateway working! I realize it is not the best way possible & pro is a good product but there are many functionality that is not needed but can not be removed. I do not wish to apply any pressure. I will simply ask & hope that you will be able to incorporate it in. Otherwise I will have to deal with it on my end. It would make the cbsubs an even better product & I appreciate you trying to integrate the gateway. If there is anyway I can help please let me know. God Bless

I understand; am doing my best to implement PayPal Advanced. The problem is of all their APIs this is the most complicated (it's crap! lol), which is why most don't have support for it. I'm pretty much half way there as handling responses is easy, but getting credit card payment onsite working is problematic as testing accounts are buggy (awaiting support to fix, am in contact with PayPal). Basically it's coming, but likely not this week as I originally hoped.
