Kunena is lacking the triggers to properly add it. GJ 2.x was relying entirely on GET, which wasn't reliable. The performance of scanning for a group based off the category id was also very bad. A trigger to add new buttons that contained the category object would be the only reliable way of doing this, which at this time isn't an option. I'll see if I can add it back in for RC2 or Stable, but it's unlikely if the performance is bad.
