The tooltips that are useful when a member is registering or editing their profile make no sense when they pop up when a user is entering entering search criteria. For example, for a country field the tooltip might be: "Enter the country you are located in" as it is on this site. Unfortunately if country is then used as a criteria in a search the same tooltip appears, when the user is actually searching for other members.
As far as I am aware, no. Not without making core edits. You should structure your descriptions to be rather versatile as they're used in many locations. Descriptions support substitutions as well so you could use IF statements to structure who it should target.

I didn't think about substitutions, I'll try that, thanks. You have the same problem on this site, it doesn't look great when a user is wanting to search for another member by country but the site prompts them to enter where they are located. For a future release, perhaps?
I'm just going live with a new site, so I'll probably get all my dumb questions out of the way all at once!
