CB Distribution Package
Community Builder (CB) is distributed as a single Joomla installable package that can be freely downloaded by logged in Joomlapolis users from the Free Download area.

Latest CB package name is: cb_1_9_1-installme.zip
Latest CB package can be downloaded from here (you must be logged in to download)
Joomla 3.2 installations with the Joomla Extension Finder enabled can locate and install latest CB package from their Joomla 3.2 Install from Web panel.
Compatibility and Technical Requirements
The latest CB package will work on following environments:
- PHP 5.2+ or better depending on Joomla version - see Joomla Technical Requirements
- MYSQL 5+ or better depending on Joomla version - see Joomla Technical Requirements
- Joomla 3.x (including Joomla 3.2), 2.5.x and 1.5.x (which obsolete and is no longer supported)
CB only works on MYSQL databases.
The CB package zip file is more than 2M in size, so on your Joomla site you need to make sure that your PHP fileuploadesize parameter is set to at least 4M (8M recommended). Take a look at our Checking your PHP settings tutorial for assistance.
Installation
You can install CB using one of the following methods:
- From your Joomla 3.2 Install from Web panel search for Community Builder and install it
- Download latest CB package from Joomlapolis Free download area (loging required to download), unzip it and install the component and modules using your Joomla Extensions manager
Make sure that you have all compatibility and technical requirements in order before attempting to install CB package.
Basic Configuration
Once you have installed the latest CB package you should notice the following:
- Community Builder has been added to your Joomla Components menu
- Unpublished CB Login, CB Workflow and CB Online modules have been added to your Joomla: Extensions :: Module Manager
In order to get CB up and running on your website you need to perform the following basic configuration steps:
- Visit, configure and save your Joomla: Components :: Community Builder :: Configuration parameters

- Unpublish Joomla login module
Find your Joomla login module from the Extensions :: Module Manager and unpublish it - Turn off Joomla registration process
Go to your Joomla: Users :: User Manager :: Options button area and set the Allow User Registration parameter to 'No' - Turn off Joomla user notification mail parameter
Go to your Joomla: Extensions :: Plugin Manager, search for the User - Joomla! plugin and set its Notification Mail to User parameter to 'No'
(this will avoid sending double email messages to your newly registered users)
Once above steps are performed you will have a Joomla website that will work with CB registration and login process and will give all your existing users a default user profile.
