Folks,

I'm looking for a list of substitution fields that I can use in the GroupJive Language files. Specifically, I looking to customize the "GROUP_INVITE_MESSAGE" to make it a bit more detailed. In addition, it does not appear that the '\n\n' is being respected in this line:

'GROUP_INVITE_MESSAGE' => "You have been invited to join the group [group] by [user]!\n\n[message]",

Below is how the message comes through in email:

You have been invited to join the group Certified Communicators in Public Health (CCPH) by Clara M xxxxxxxx! Please join my group? NOTE: This email was automatically generated from National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC) ( www.nphic.org ).

You can see that the newline is not being interpreted after the user name.

Can Joomla Language Overrides be used for this GroupJive language file? I tried to override GROUP_INVITE_MESSAGE and it did not seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

There is no such list. The following custom substitutions are available to GJ invite notification in addition to standard fields substitutions.

[message]

The following are available to all GJ notifications.

[category_id]
[category_name]
[category_description]
[category] (name with URL)
[group_id]
[group_name]
[group_description]
[group] (name with URL)
[user] (user sending notification or fallback to use receiving notification with profile URL)

For new lines you need to use HTML. Either use paragraph elements to separate paragraphs or br tags. Looks like that notification may need to be fixed if the newlines are not working for your mail server as they should convert to HTML.

Kyle,

Thanks! BTW. I'm getting an Access Error when attempting to update the Avatar and Canvas in Community Builder. Any thoughts on why I would be getting this error message. I've checked all my configurations and they seem fine.

Thanks,
Joe

Ok, new lines issue looks like same as the below bug.

forge.joomlapolis.com/issues/5434

They're supposed to be converted to br elements in our mailer API. So same issue different location, but would need to be fixed in core CB it self. You can replace them with <br /> in a language override to workaround it if necessary.

Update your own Avatar or Canvas? Please be more specific on the access error. Is it a white page with access denied? If so it's likely your servers mod_security settings causing a false positive. Please create a new topic with further details if issue persists.
