CB 1.x to CB 2.x is a migration and not just a simple update. You'll need to go through your entire install and review configuration to ensure everything is still configured as expected. As for the language strings that maybe due to the module not updating, try installing CB again over it self and see if that resolves it. If that does not resolve it be sure every plugin you've installed has also been updated (this includes language plugins). If a plugin is marked incompatible in CB > Plugin Management then I also recommend updating it or uninstalling it.
