Users of my Tech-Community site is asking for the WALL feature.

After, going through the Facebook's Wall feature, I think, its more like a Activity Log listings.

But, SimplePin or Buzz Board etc. are more like Scrap-Book of Orkut.

I am thinking of developing a Real WALL-e  System.

While I was just doing some study, I found that the basic/core system is very very easy, just listings. But the major and complex part would be 'integration' with other components.

Think that the CB SuperActivity would look like that the most?

I use The Profile Activty plugin from Axxis.gr

works flawlessly and integrates into dozens of other coms.

Its not free...nor is it cheap

I have just abut all of their products and it cost me around 300.00 us

super messenger
super groups
super events
super activity tab, plugin and module
comments addon pack
like dislike addon

its not cheap, but it works perfect...
my user pay to be VIP members anyways so this will pay me back very quickly.

the idea is give users all sorts of stuff to do and have them create content that other users can see and get notifed of so it attracts them back.

such as comments (ie Wall, and photo tagging)

those two items alone really are the "niche" of facebook and prolly two of the most used features facebook offers.

without something like this...your community will die and they will go to another commerical social net.
but...why wouldnt they? its a superior system for straight up social networking.

these plugins and the gallery called SimGallery bridge that gap and create a facebook like expeirience.

add HWD video and you are set to compete

most of use run niche sites and want to offer our users something similar to the big guys.

IMHO if your running a social network and want to keep users not only intrested but keep them coming back..then you need these products.
